Relationship Changes, Bereavement, Life Transitions

Hello and welcome!

Experiencing loss or major transition at any point in our adult lives can be stressful, whether the circumstances are anticipated or unanticipated, wanted or unwanted.  If your relationships, career or living circumstances are shifting, it can be difficult to find peace and satisfaction. Change and the need to adjust may seem to be the only consistent features of life, leaving you anxious, sad, overwhelmed or “stuck”.

I understand these feelings.

In my own life, I have gone through my own challenging transitions and adjustments, and now enjoy helping clients to navigate life events that are overwhelming and distressing. During individual therapy sessions, I will listen to your story with respect and compassion, paying close attention to the words you use and how you understand your experiences. I often reflect these words back to you to help you clarify your thoughts and feelings.

I can help you to process your feelings fully.

Together we will find ways for you to honour what has been lost or to find new paths forward in ways that fit your personal, cultural or spiritual orientation. I use techniques from a variety of therapy modalities with you (and often humour when appropriate) to highlight emotions, and shift thought and behaviour patterns.

I will work with you to re-discover your strengths and find a way to adjust and create peace in your life again.

Rest assured, a positive future is possible.

You may be having difficulty with one or more of these areas:

  • grief & loss — losing someone or something significant

  • life stage transitions — marriage, having children, retiring, becoming a caregiver

  • career — dissatisfaction, workplace stress, precarious employment

  • work-life balance — feeling overworked with a chaotic schedule

  • relationships — family, partner, friends
